New Delhi, Mar 29: After Ola's S1 Pro scooter and an Okinawa scooter caught fire in Pune and Vellore, the central government has ordered a probe into the recent. The DRDO's Centre for Fire, Explosive and Environment Safety will investigate the circumstances that led to the explosion or fire in these cases.
CFEES has been asked to submit the findings of the report along with the remedial measures for improvement. The notification further read, “The findings of the reports, along with the remedial measures for improvement in each of these cases, may please be shared with the ministry.”
The Ola scooter fire incident came to light when users shared videos of an Ola Electric scooter up in flames. There was, however, no casualty in the incident.
The exact reason behind the issue has not yet been defined. However, Ola Electric said in a press statement it had reached out to the affected user.
“We are aware of an incident in Pune that happened with one of our scooters and are investigating to understand the root cause and will share more updates in the next few days. We're in constant touch with the customer who is absolutely safe,” the Bengaluru-based company said in its statement.
