'Semicon India 2022': PM Modi to inaugurate semiconductor conference in Bengaluru tomorrow

Semicon India-2022, a three-day conference, is being organised to take forward the vision of PM Modi to make India a leader in the electronics manufacturing , semiconductor design, manufacturing and innovation, according to a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) release.

In a major development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first-ever Semicon India 2022 Conference in Bengaluru on 29 April. The Conference will be organised by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology from 29 April-1 May at ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru around theme of - Design and Manufacture in India, for the World: Making India a “Semiconductor Nation”.

Few names that are expected to participate in this conference are Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, Cadence CEO Anirudh Devgan, Indo-Us venture partners founder Vinod Dham, SEMI President Ajit Manocha, and Emeritus Stanford Professor Arogyaswami Paulraj, the Ministry of Electronics and IT said in the release.
 
 
 
Speaking about the Conference at an event earlier this month, Minister of State in MeitY Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, "Semicon India 2022 conference will attract best minds from across the world from semiconductor industry, research and academia and will act as a big step in fulfilling PM’s vision on making India a global hub for electronics manufacturing and Semiconductor industry".
 
Chandrasekhar also informed that the government is looking forward to number of MoUs to be signed during the three day conference forging partnerships and alliances in the semiconductor space.
