Mystery ‘space debris’ fall from space in three areas in Gujarat

Bhalej, May 13: In a shocking development, broken parts of suspected space debris fell in three different locations in Gujarat's Anand district, leaving the villagers curious.

 

 

As per the private media, a large black metal ball weighing around 5 Kg fell in Bhalej at around 4,45 pm. Similar instances were reported in Khambholaj and Rampura. It should be noted that all three villages are located within 15 kilometers of each other. Soon after discovering fragments, villagers called in the local police.

 

Following this police reached to spot and began a probe. They have filed a ‘Note Case’ in the incident. The police have also called Forensic Science Laboratory experts. The mental ball was suspected to be satellite debris.

 

 

While talking to the private media house, Anand Superintendent of Police Ajit Rajiaan said, "The first ball fell around 4.45 pm and shortly there were similar reports from two other locations… No injury or casualty has occurred as fortunately, the debris fell away from a house in Khambholaj while in the other two places it fell in an open area. We are not sure what kind of space debris this is but it has fallen from the sky as per accounts of villagers.”

 

He further informed that the district police has summoned a team of FSL experts to begin a probe. “The FSL will arrive and conduct its probe. We have filed a ‘Note Case’ in the incident and will await the report of the FSL in the matter. Meanwhile, the officers of the district police are also trying to find out what the objects could be,” Rajiaan said.
