Are you currently facing a high network crisis at your workplace and home? Well, worry not; Reliance Jio is about to come up with an extremely fast network system named Jio AirFiber. Reliance Industries initially showcased the Jio AirFiber wireless hotspot at last year's AGM. The company is now ready to launch the product and service in the country.

What is Jio AirFiber?

This is a hotspot device that delivers fibre-like 5G speed over the air without any wires at home & office. You can simply plug it in for fiber-like high broadband speeds. It has the ability to support a large number of users on a single network.

How it works?

Jio AirFiber delivers fibre-like speed through the air without any wire. Jio AirFiber uses point-to-point radio links to connect users’ homes and workplaces. The Jio AirFiber 5G has multiple complements in the network system. Primarily it has an indoor and outdoor unit in which the outdoor unit receives the signal from the access point and sends it to the indoor unit.

In addition to having all the required ports, such as LAN and WAN connections, the indoor unit or router also contains air vents at the bottom to minimize overheating. On the back of the device are printed the username and password as well. You will also receive a set-up box, which is identical to the set-up box that is provided with a standard Jio Fibre connection.

As part of the initiatives being undertaken by the Digital India programme, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) also introduced a service in 2020 that was analogous to air fibre. Wireless service can be provided by the state-owned company for a distance of up to 20 kilometres from BSNL base stations. Jio will have an advantage over BSNL in terms of overall network performance, cost, and post-sale service, all of which are areas in which BSNL falls short.
