Skanda Aerospace Technology Pvt Ltd (SATPL), a joint venture between Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools and Rave Gears LLC (Texas, USA), launched its state-of-the-art Gear Manufacturing plant in Hyderabad.
According to a press release, this pioneering effort, the first of its type in India, is dedicated to forging aerospace-standard gears, signifying a modest yet hopeful step towards boosting aerospace production in the nation. The occasion was attended by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of I&C and IT, and Praveen PA, Director of Aerospace and Defence in the Government of Telangana.
Skanda's opening is a key step toward strengthening India's aerospace and defense capabilities, contributing to the country's self-reliance in critical areas, according to Vamsi Vikas, Managing Director of Raghu Vamsi.
India's defense sector is expanding significantly, fueled further by increased interest from neighboring countries in locally built airplanes, helicopters, and other specialist items. Skanda's new factory is well positioned to fulfill the growing demand for products in this industry. This involves manufacturing gears and gearboxes not just for local airplanes and helicopters, but also for the worldwide commercial aviation sector.
