Being the brains behind the satellite the young scientist has won the Cubes in Space global design competition. The young innovator used polyetherimide thermoplastic resins as well as 3D printing technology. According to the S Riyasdeen the satellites are named VISION SAT v1 and v2 and, both are 37 mm in size and, the payload is only around 30 mm with 33 grams weight which has made it the world’s lightest Femto satellites. Riyasdeen has been mentored by INRO Labs, Chennai.

V1 is made of polyetherimide Ultem 9085 and is infused with 11 sensors that would record as many as 11 parameters and this satellite. While V2 satellite is made of polyetherimide Ultemltem 1010 and is infused with 11 sensors that would record as many as 17 parameters.

Riyasdeen was selected for two Femto satellites under two different missions. As per the reports, Nasa is going to launch the V1 through Nasa's Sounding Rocket under SR 7 mission from Wallops Flight Facility, Virginia, the USA in June 2021. Meanwhile, the V2 satellite is expected to be launched in NASA Zero pressure Research Balloon under RB 6 mission during August 2021.

Recognising the talent the SASTRA-TBI in 3D Printing and Internet of Things (IoT) is offering an incubation grant of Rs.5 Lakhs to Riyasdeen to further pursue his ambition of establishing a successful start-up. He has carved a niche in the scientific world. He is the true inspiration for others.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami took to Twitter and congratulated the young man. He tweeted, " My congratulations and appreciation to Riyasdeen, a student from Thanjavur who has added pride to Tamil Nadu and India by designing and achieving the world's lightest satellite! It makes NASA even more proud and happy to be in space in 2021."
