New Delhi, January 28: As per the new list of the ‘Brand Finance Global 500" 2021, for first-time Industrial tycoon Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance "Jio" has become the fifth strongest brand globally. According to the Brand Finance Report, Jio has earned a BSI score of 91.7 out of 100 and it gets an elite AAA+ brand strength rating.
It is preceded by WeChat, Ferrari, SBER, and Coca-Cola. Others in the top 10 are Deloitte, LEGO, Amazon, Disney, and EY. Describing, Jio the Brand Finance said “Despite only being founded in 2016, Jio has quickly become the largest mobile network operator in India and the third-largest mobile network operator in the world, with almost 400 million subscribers."
“Renowned for its incredibly affordable plans, Jio took India by storm through offering 4G to millions of users for free, simultaneously transforming how Indians consume the internet – known as the ‘Jio effect’,” said Brand Finance.
It added that "the brand has no major weaknesses within the sector and unlike other telecoms brands globally, Jio has shown that it has broken the mould, and enjoy genuine affection from consumers."
Expressing the happiness Jio said, “Entering the ranking for the first time this year and claiming the title of the world’s 5th strongest brand, is Indian telecoms giant, Jio, with a BSI score of 91.7 out of 100 and the elite AAA+ brand strength rating,”
Interestingly, Jio has become the fifth strongest brand globally after surging ahead of tech giants like Apple, Tencent, Alibaba, Paypal, and other brands like Nike and Pepsi. Apart from Jio, HDFC bank has also featured among the world's 'Top 25 Strongest Brand. Meanwhile, it has got a BSI score of 89.6 out of 100.
