New era of space reforms! ISRO Launches 19 Satellites in First Lift-off of 2021

New Delhi, March 01: Ushering in a new era of space reforms, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully lifted off PSLV-C51 along with Brazilian satellite Amazonia-1 and Baghwadgita from Sriharikota on Sunday. It was launched as per the planned timing. Ironically, ISRO launched its first mission of 2021 on the occasion of National science day.

After four stages of separation, the rocket launched its primary passenger Amazonia in space orbit. This satellite would further strengthen the existing structure by providing remote sensing data to users for monitoring deforestation in the Amazon region and analysis of diversified agriculture across the Brazilian territory.

Following that later, the rocket launched the remaining 18 passenger satellites in the orbit. These co-passenger satellites include Satish Dhawan Sat (SD SAT) from Chennai-based Space Kidz India (SKI). It also includes an engraved picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi symbolising his Atmanirbhar initiative and Space privatisation. This is the first commercial mission of New space India limited.
 
 
 
 
The rocket journeyed for two hours and eight minutes as it placed all its satellites in orbits, in approximately four minutes. ISRO immediately took it to Twitter and announced the successful completion of the mission and wrote, "All co-passenger satellites separated from #PSLVC51. Mission accomplished.."
 
 
 
 
While speaking at the press conference, former astronaut and Brazilian Minister for Science and technology Marcos Caeser Portes expressed his happiness he said, Brazil looks forward to working with India in the space field.
 
He further asserted that the satellite would further strengthen the existing structure by providing remote sensing data to users for monitoring deforestation in the Amazon region and analysis of diversified agriculture across the Brazilian territory.
 
ISRO chairman Dr.Sivan said that Amazonia was launched at the precise orbit. He told that ISRO was extremely proud honored and happy to launch the satellite designed integrated and operated by Brazil for the first time. While giving the information about other missions of the ISRO, he said ISRO has lined up 14 missions for launch in 2021, including the space agency's first unmanned mission later this year.
