Today something is going to happen in our solar system, as after a significant amount of time our natural satellite is going to appear more or less fully illuminated. This is going to form the be a spectacular and beautiful moment in the sky which will be called " Pink Full Moon". Today, moons are going to appear bigger and brighter in the sky. This Full Moon is the first of two supermoons for 2021. The full moon will be a supermoon, when the moon is within 90% of perigee, or at one of the closest points to Earth.
What is going to happen?
The pink moon is a supermoon, meaning it may appear slightly larger and brighter than usual. This happens when the full moon is also near its closest point to Earth. The moon doesn't orbit our planet in a perfect circle, so sometimes it's closer to us than at other times.

This time the moon will be about 222,064 miles (357,378 kilometers) away from Earth, which is about 8% closer than the distance of an average full moon (240,000 miles or 384,400 km). The Pink Moon is usually 7 per cent bigger and 15 per cent brighter than the regular Full Moon.
Is the moon is going to appear in pink Color?
No! It is just the concept that is used to describe the phenomenon, The reason the Full Moon in April is called the Pink Moon is that it's the first full moon of Spring. The name Pink Moon comes from the herb called Moss Pink which is found in the USA and sprouts flowers at the beginning of the Spring season.
Other names for this Moon include the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes of North America, the Fish Moon, as this was when the shad swam upstream to spawn.
Who started the term?
A term coined by astrologer Richar Nolle in 1979, a supermoon occurs when a full or new moon is at its closest point to Earth, making it look much larger and brighter.
When to watch?
The easiest way to catch the moon is to simply step outside after dark and look for the big round lantern in the sky. The full pink moon will be at its 'Peak Illumination' at 11.33 PM EDT or 9:03 AM IST. The full Pink Moon can be seen with naked eyes around the world.
The next one on May 26, will be even a little closer to the Earth and therefore slightly bigger, although the difference will still probably be impossible to spot. It will be a total lunar eclipse that will turn into a blood moon.
