The 5G technology will provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency, and highly reliable communications. Before the launch, several top companies like Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Qualcomm demonstrated their 5G services as well as their benefits of it to PM Narendra Modi.

New Delhi, October 01: The wait for 5G service in India is finally over as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 5G services in India. He also inaugurated the sixth edition of the India Mobile Congress at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. With that launch, India entered a new era of technology.

The 5G technology will provide seamless coverage, high data rate, low latency, and highly reliable communications. Before the launch, several top companies like Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Qualcomm demonstrated their 5G services as well as their benefits of it to PM Narendra Modi.
 
 
 
At the event, he also spent time understanding the indigenous development of end-to-end 5G technology, and how 5G can help bridge the gap between urban and rural healthcare delivery.
 
 
 
During the launch, billionaire Mukesh Ambani on Saturday announced that his telecom firm Reliance Jio will launch 5G services across the country by December 2023. Jio is rapidly progressing to roll out 5G services within this month.
 
Meanwhile, Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Airtel announced that Airtel’s 5G services will be available in eight cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Bengaluru. His company will cover most major cities by March 20232 and the entire country by March 2024.
 
“It is an important day for India and it is the start of a new era. I believe the launch of the 5G services during the celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will bring new awareness and opportunities in the country,” said Sunil Mittal, chairman, Bharti Airtel, during the launch of the 5G at the India Mobile Congress.
