Jio launches second-generation JioBook laptop; Check features, sale and more

Telecom giant Reliance Jio on Monday unveiled the all new JioBook laptop in India. And it is definitely lighter and more advanced than its predecessor, which was introduced to the market in October 2022. This newly launched JioBook focuses on learning for all age groups.

On the design end, the second-gen JioBook resembles the previous iteration. However, it bears a lightweight plastic body, which weighs only 990g as opposed to last year's model (at 1.2kg).It has a 11.6-inch LED display with an infinity keyboard and a fairly large trackpad. It also houses a 2MP webcam for video calls and more.
 
The device runs JioOS
 
The second-gen JioBook uses an octa-core Qualcommprocessor. The laptop boots JioOS, and runs its own browser—JioPages. It includes JioStore to let users install apps/tools/services. It packs a 5,000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of flash memory (expandable up to 256GB). The device promises a "full-day" backup (around eight hours).It supports always-on 4G connectivity to offer a fast and uninterrupted network connection.
 
 
 
The new Jio laptop is equipped with an octa-core processor and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The company is claiming in its teasers that the JioBook can deliver smooth multitasking and efficient performance. It offers 64GB of storage, which is expandable up to 256GB with an SD card. One of the key features of the JioBook is the Infinity keyboard and large multi-gesture trackpad. The laptop also comes with in-built USB and HDMI ports, allowing users to connect to external devices and peripherals.
 
It supports 4G LTE connectivity
 
The second-gen JioBook comes with a host of connectivity options. The laptop includes an embedded Jio SIM card for 4G on the go. It also gets an HDMI port, two USB ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microSD card slot.For wireless connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.That said, it packs dual 1.0W stereo speakers and twin microphones.
 
It runs JioOS which is designed keeping users’ comfort and convenience in mind. Some of the features of JioOS include intuitive interface, multi-tasking screens and screen transparency control. There are 75+ keyboard shortcuts and the trackpad is also a multi-gesture trackpad with a familiar right click menu. Some of the in-built capabilities on JioOS to enhance learning and entertainment experience include JioTV with Ready educational content in the form of videos, JioCloud Gaming, which has leading gaming titles and JioBIAN Ready linux based coding environment to learn and code in languages like C/C++, Java, Python, and Pearl. It is priced at Rs. 16,499. Pre-orders for the device open at 12.30 pm on July 31 and the sale starts on August 5. It will be available for purchase from Jio Mart, Reliance Digital and Amazon.in. As an introductory offer, customers can also get a 100 GB cloud storage for 12 months, a premium laptop carry case and a Quick Heal Security & Parental Control for 12 months with the purchase.
