BEML hands over Light Alloy Structures to VSSC-ISRO

BEML Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Defence, said on Tuesday that it has got an order from ISRO's Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) to produce and supply seven different types of Light Alloy Structures for Launch Vehicle Mk-3 (LVM3).

BEML's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Shantanu Roy presented the first Strap on Base Shroud (SBS) structure to VSSC, ISRO on Tuesday, in the presence of BEML's Director (Defence Business) Ajit Kumar Srivastav and Director (Finance) Anil Jerath.

BEML's Aerospace business previously provided fabricated Retro Motor Casings to VSSC, ISRO for the PSLV program in 2018. BEML has successfully supplied 120 RS1 motor casings to ISRO thus far.

BEML has also established a specialized hangar at its Bangalore Complex with the necessary jigs and fixtures, as well as metrology instruments, for the manufacture of Light Alloy Structures.

BEML hardware is scheduled to be employed in future missions beginning with M7.
